I go there when I go back to NYC. It seems important, especially when I stand with everyone else who has journeyed there and look up. Each time I watch them taking photos of the empty spot in the sky. There's a something gone for a lot of people, and it's hard to really notice something that's not but I think you've come as close as one can to capturing it here.
I live on Long Island. I've been here many times, and it never fails to move me. The city was never so sad and lonely then in the days after 911 when every inch of wall in Penn station was covered in Have you seen this person posters.

I've stood right there on three separate occasions since that horrible Tuesday. It never fails to move me.
