Groupthink...Tonight's Best Song Ever...

It's hard to be one of the rational thinkers in a group that is easily distracted by ole talk, so, yea, I do find myself getting impatient a lot. Yes, on occasion a valid point or two can be made, but not today it seemed (instances such as those are rare). In a situation like that I would normally react in one of two ways - I would either walk on out, or simply sit quietly, bearing the onslaught of ridiculous rantings, always clinging to the thin thread of hope that something worth discussing would find its way out in the open.

But my reaction was different today. I spoke out. And I did so because someone needed to bring order to the rampant chaos of illogic. Because really and truly, to stay quiet at this juncture would be to err AND concur with lesser minds.

I once read somewhere that you can't stand out if you're forever trying to fit in. I forgot where I read that, but I'll never forget that quote. Cos' to purposely stand out means that I'm standing for something worthwhile.
