Caribbean Democracy...Today's Best Quote Ever...

Today, Caribbean governments control the public purse but the minds and attitudes of their citizens are controlled by external simulation and perhaps more than this, the Caribbean itself is not allowed to evolve under its own terms.

Further, Caribbean democracy itself is now being refined by crime, violence and terrorism - much of it also externally driven.

The threats to the Caribbean are not only of the hardware kind such as terrorism and drug trafficking but from the subversive attractions of vulgar entertainment and hedonistic lifestyles - globalised as they are - and (made) even more glamorous through the technology that transports them.
